What are the stages of service provision?

a) Review — familiarization with the current infrastructure, problems, wishes of developers and owners, and creation of a roadmap of works with a time estimate. Depending on the complexity of the infrastructure and the available documentation, the review requires from 2 to 60 hours of engineer and PM working time.
The result: a ready-made roadmap with a time estimate and a prescribed sequence of actions for building the desired infrastructure and carrying out the necessary migrations.


b) Implementation — implementation of the roadmap. According to the agreements, we allocate the necessary number of engineering hours and engage the necessary specialists to complete the roadmap on time. Our PM organizes the work of DevOps engineers, monitors the execution of tasks, and provides reports to the customer.
Result: all tasks of the roadmap completed within the stipulated time. The infrastructure has been created or improved according to the roadmap, and the necessary migrations have been carried out.


c) Support 24/7 — programmer support and Incident management 24/7 services. SHALB monitors the operation of all systems around the clock, identifies failures and immediately takes actions necessary to restore normal operation.
The result: maximum availability of the customer’s services and no downtime for the customer’s programmers.

How is the cost of services determined?

The cost of providing services at each stage depends on the number of required engineering hours. The cost of services and the implementation period at the Implementation stage can be fixed. The option of incident management 24/7 is paid additionally.

How many engineers will be involved from your side?

We involve at least two DevOps engineers and a PM in each project. We also engage additional engineers who specialize in certain areas of work, such as monitoring master (for work on setting up monitoring and observability), database administrator (for setting up databases in various configurations and optimizing performance) and CI/CD-master (for setting up CI/CD procedures).


This approach allows us to perform work as quickly and qualitatively as possible and provide support around-the-clock.

What are the possible payment options?

We work on a monthly advance payment for the planned number of hours.

Payment is made in USD or EUR.

What is the level of your engineers and does it affect the cost?

Our engineers are of Middle and Senior levels. The price for working hours is generalized for everyone.

What are the guarantees of service quality?

In addition, our financial responsibility for the quality of services is specified in the contract and is the total amount of funds received from the customer during cooperation – there are no hidden costs.

How do DevOps engineers integrate with the Customer's team?

We use three channels of interaction:


  • JIRA — all tasks and time logging are displayed in our JIRA and are available to the customer and their employees.
  • Slack — a shared channel in Slack allows the customer’s engineers to quickly communicate with SHALB’s DevOps engineers.
  • Weekly sync-up calls with engineers and PMs guarantee the most transparent communication. These calls enable the customer to be aware of the progress of the work, receive the necessary consultations, and make changes to the roadmap.
